An Introduction to the Graystone TeamWalter Woods, Founder and Principal: Following a distinguished enlistment in the U.S. Coast Guard, Walter Woods founded Graystone in 1986. Working as a finish carpenter-builder, Walter has developed Graystone into a successful residential and small commercial design-building firm. He believes that Graystone’s success has culminated from a focus on traditional New England building practices, understanding owner expectations, and delivering quality constructed homes. Walter maintains strong ties to the local community and believes in giving back to the community and to those who are less advantaged. As a secondary homeowner in the Bretton Woods resort area, Walter has a sincere appreciation for the Mt. Washington people, culture, and heritage. Shawn Woods, Senior Project Manager: Shawn has been with Graystone Builders for over 10 years. Starting as an apprentice in the construction field with Graystone, Shawn has become a key member of our team. He manages all aspects of the consrtuction process from scheduling of sub-contractors to final inspections. Shawn has developed a reputation for consistency and reliability with our customers and his attention to details continues to earn their praises. Michael Sauvageau, Project Manager: Michael also completed an enlistment in the U.S. Coast Guard and has been working in the building construction industry for 20 years. As an experienced Project Manager, Michael understands the essential elements of site development and building construction. He is the on-site representative responsible for daily operations including quality, scheduling, and management of Graystone’s construction team and subcontractors. David Goguen, Architectual Designer: After graduating from the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Massachusetts, David has accumulated more than 20 years of experience as an architectural designer. David taught architectural drafting at the high-school level for many years and now enjoys a career at his own firm (Residential Design Associates, Inc.) designing custom homes and small commercial buildings for builder and developer cliental. Timothy Nichols, P.E., Civil Engineer: After completing an enlistment in the U.S. Coast Guard, Tim obtained his B.S. Civil Engineering degree from the University of Massachusetts. Tim is a licensed Professional Civil Engineer in four New England states including New Hampshire. His 20-year career began working as a designer and general contractor in the municipal, federal, and commercial building and construction industries. Tim founded his current firm (anix, LLC) in 2007 providing a broad scope of services including site and civil design and engineering, architectural design, and sustainable design-build consulting. ![]()
